The Resurrection of Christ, said Maleš, is the main and fundamental Christian holiday that celebrates the victory of life over death, and is joyfully and happily welcomed today by believers around the world, including the city of Zenica, where about 40 believers gathered this morning in the Orthodox church. "The Holy Gospel says, when Jesus preached: Where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am among them! We always hold onto these words of Jesus and rejoice in the great holiday. There are many Orthodox Christians around the world celebrating the most joyful Christian holiday today, singing the customary spiritual song 'Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death, and upon those in the tombs bestowing life!' That is the most important, let's say, song and the most important message of the entire Easter holiday—that Christ has brought us victory over death, that is, He has brought us eternal life! This is what we Orthodox Christians believe," conveyed Maleš. To all people, they also wish that today's holiday brings peace, joy, well-being, and many good and positive news. "These days, we see very great turbulence in the world. We pray to the Lord God for peace throughout the whole world, for the salvation of all people, regardless of their skin color, nation, or religion. Christ is a universal figure and came for all people. That is what we believe! He did not come only for certain ones, so we spread and share this message of love and fellowship equally among everyone," emphasized Maleš. To all Christians of the world, Zenica's protopriest Maleš greeted with the traditional greeting "Christ is risen," to which the response is "Indeed He is risen!" The joy of this holiday is traditionally complemented by boiled colored eggs, which symbolize new life and are shared with friends, especially children.

The elder of the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in Zenica, Archpriest Marko Maleš, led this morning's Easter liturgy for the Orthodox faithful of Zenica, which began with a procession around the temple and the hymn "Christ is Risen."
