The South Interconnection Law has also been adopted in the House of Peoples of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, followed by the signing of an agreement with Croatia.

The law was passed with 61 delegates voting in favor, one abstaining, and three against. The amendments to the law will come into effect after being published in the Official Gazette of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The next step, following adoption in the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, aimed at realizing the Southern Interconnection project, will be the signing of an interstate agreement between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, scheduled for the end of the month in Dubrovnik. The most significant change in the amended text of the Southern Interconnection Law concerns the investor, as it was previously BH Gas, while now the specified investor is the American company AAFS. "The text of the newly proposed act includes the name of the investor, an American company. Under the current legislation, the domestic company BH Gas was in the role of investor and gas transporter; however, on the ground, the implementation of the Southern Interconnection project has not yet occurred, and it is an urgent necessity," stated the relevant minister, Vedran Lakić, who emphasized that the American company has expressed serious intent to build this gas pipeline. The route of the Southern Interconnection remains the same, and the newly adopted amendments also provide for branches towards Grude, Gornji Vakuf, Donji Vakuf, and Čapljina, as well as a new direction from Kladanj towards Tuzla. The liquefied gas route will enter Bosnia and Herzegovina, specifically the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, from the south via the Republic of Croatia, with which an appropriate agreement also needs to be reached.
