The event was held this afternoon, gathering visitors who celebrated past social victories and nurtured the antifascist spirit of Sarajevo through various activities.
The gathering in Hastahana Park is part of the central commemorative program held on the same day at Vratnik, organized by the Alliance of Associations of Antifascists and National Liberation War Veterans of Sarajevo Canton (SABNOR) and the Association of Antifascists and National Liberation War Veterans (UABNOR) of the Municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo.
Organizers previously emphasized that the goal of the gathering was to highlight the importance of activist optimism, as well as to remind of the significance of public spaces like Hastahana, which symbolizes the recent civic struggle for the right to the city and local decision-making.
They noted that all social struggles are interconnected and that it is important to continue nurturing the values of solidarity and community.
During the event, a rich sports and recreational program was organized, including table tennis, basketball, bocce, and badminton, while visitors had the opportunity to enjoy music and socializing over a barbecue, with the youngest also enjoying chalk drawing on the pavement.
Earlier, via social media, the DKC clearly stated that April 6 is and must remain the Day of Sarajevo's Liberation from Fascism, emphasizing that attempts to diminish or erase the antifascist character of this date are unacceptable.
