Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukraine has secured the return of 175 soldiers and seven civilians from Russian captivity. According to him, the released soldiers defended the country on various fronts from east to south, with most having been held captive since 2022.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the United Arab Emirates mediated this exchange. Russia, according to the ministry, received back 175 of its soldiers and seven civilians from the Kursk region.

However, the peace process remains blocked due to disagreements over territorial issues.

Meanwhile, both sides have reached an agreement on a 32-hour ceasefire for Orthodox Easter.

Russia announced that the truce will begin at 4 PM local time on Saturday and last until midnight on Sunday.
