According to Trump, Carlson and several other journalists and influencers are "lunatics," and the reason for the attack was their criticism of the American president over the decision to strike Iran. Carlson, or rather his company Tucker Carlson Network (TCN), decided to respond in a specific way. In their daily newsletter, they dedicated a special section to the relationship between Israel and the U.S., or rather, toward the leaders of this country. "The media doesn’t report on this, but Israel has a long history of blackmailing American presidents. One example is Bill Clinton. They blackmailed him with an audio recording confirming the affair with Monica Lewinsky, and in return, they secured the release of spy Jonathan Pollard. We’re not joking, this really happened," writes TCN’s newsletter. They recalled this story due to, as they stated, the current efforts of the American administration to stop the war in Iran. "As with many things, it turns out that America’s 'special ally' knows how to use dirty tricks to achieve its goals. Dirty money campaigns, extortion, blackmail, physical threats, even assassination threats. In their anti-Christian campaigns, they’ve shown that the end always justifies the means. They have no reservations about destroying lives," they wrote. TCN emphasizes that Israel’s top priority is to continue the war with Iran, with special emphasis on American involvement. "They know that American attacks on behalf of Israel are the best way to expand their borders and become a superpower on a global level, and if a peace agreement were reached, their plans would fail. Considering Israel’s past, their leaders will do anything to keep the bloodshed going. They might try the Clinton-era blackmail on Trump, or something much worse," says TCN. They also claim that Trump is under incredible pressure and that individuals loyal to Israel harass him every time he says something they don’t like. They point out that many others, not just Trump, would go crazy from this. "There is no group more aggressive than them, than individuals loyal to Israel in the U.S., no matter how much every past administration has coddled them. They are never grateful, always want more, and give no one any room for compromise," states the post. Finally, they noted that the reason for this post was precisely the way Trump described Carlson, and that they don’t want to engage in arguments but rather understand the situation Trump is in. "He is under pressure you can’t even imagine, causing him to abandon his campaign promises and turn into the politicians he promised to destroy. He wouldn’t behave this way unless he were being blackmailed with something very personal and serious. We certainly hope he will fight it," wrote TCN’s newsletter.
