"Remember when I gave Iran ten days to make a deal or open the Strait of Hormuz. Time is running outโ€”48 hours before all hell breaks loose on them," wrote the U.S. president on the social network Truth Social.

Trump has repeatedly threatened to bomb Iranian energy sites while simultaneously seeking a diplomatic arrangement to end the war.

He claimed that Iran's new decision-makers, appointed after U.S. and Israeli attacks killed dozens of top officials, are more reasonable and willing to negotiate, but little evidence supports this, and efforts to mediate a ceasefire reportedly hit a snag yesterday.

Interestingly, Trump wrote on Truth Social yesterday that he could open the Strait of Hormuz, but with a bit more time.

"With a little more time, we can easily open the Strait of Hormuz, take the oil, and earn wealthโ€”it will be a 'source of abundance' for the whole world," Trump wrote.

Trump has spoken about the Strait of Hormuz in various contradictory ways on multiple occasions, and it has also been mentioned that he is prepared to end the war against Iran without opening the Strait of Hormuz.

He attempted to open the Strait of Hormuz with the support of other countries, such as France, Germany, Japan, or the United Kingdom, but received rejections.

Meanwhile, Trump announced that the U.S. and Israel will attack bridges and energy infrastructure in Iran in the coming period, while Iran threatens to retaliate with attacks on U.S. bases in the Middle East.
