The Faculty's tradition is marked by a continuous dedication to promoting knowledge, ideals of justice, the rule of law, and the highest standards of the legal profession and science.
"Increasingly complex social relations, technological development, and digitalization demand new approaches to education and research. These challenges also serve as an incentive for us to demonstrate our ability to adapt the tradition we inherit to new circumstances," she stated, among other things, at the ceremony.

Member of the Presidency of BiH, Željko Komšić, addressed the gathering as an alumnus of the Faculty at the academy marking the 80th anniversary of the establishment and work of the Faculty of Law at the University of Sarajevo.
He expressed that, aware of the function he currently holds, he becomes emotional when it comes to the UNSA building and the Faculty of Law, to which he is connected by fond memories. He emphasized that this Faculty educates personnel with the knowledge, abilities, and ethical values to lead various institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is very important.
"I know that back then, in my generation of law students, we were taught not only the essence of legal science but also ethics because it is important that, in addition to what you bring from your family, you acquire norms and ways of behavior during your education that encompass fundamental ethical values. Many of those educated at this Faculty are in positions to make decisions about something, about the fates of other people, about what this country will be like, what society will ultimately become because it is impossible to avoid that influence on social processes," Komšić emphasized.
Along with congratulations for the anniversary of the existence and work of the Faculty of Law at UNSA, the Chairman of the KS Assembly, Elvedin Okerić, pointed out that eight decades of an educational institution is not just a temporal fact—it is a testament to the continuity of knowledge, dedication, and responsibility toward society.
"The Faculty of Law has been, all these years, and remains one of the fundamental pillars of legal thought, academic excellence, and the building of the rule of law in BiH," he said.
