Dear all, given everything that has been happening to our club lately, we believe it would be wrong not to react and remain indifferent to the current situation. Although we are not a club that often issues public statements, we have reached a limit beyond which we can no longer remain silent, because this small, but for us great club—we live for it. The recent match between Sloga and Posušje was anything but a sporting contest. While we cannot complain too much about the first half, we must reflect on the other 45 minutes. Under the direction of referee Efendić, there were a series of incomprehensible changes—from bizarre interruptions of play and halting our counterattacks to the lenient awarding of yellow and red cards. The peak of it all was showing cards to their players on the bench, who laughed and exchanged high-fives with the referee. Everything seemed like a deliberate delay of the game and the conclusion of a positive result for the home team, with nearly 50 fouls called and only a few minutes of active play in the second half," states the beginning of the announcement from the Herzegovinian club.
They emphasize that while observing their players, some of whom are in our league for the first time, they felt shame and bitterness, and they themselves told Efendić to blow the final whistle because such things cannot be tolerated.
"To make matters even more absurd, that same 'referee' has been assigned to our next match against FK Borac, which, to our knowledge, is the first time in the league's history that the same head referee officiates the same club in two consecutive rounds, especially since he was not 'concentrated' in the first match, naturally to our detriment. Faced with questions from many people asking if we see what is being done to us, we wondered: should we react or not? As the management, through discussions, we tried to remain restrained, telling ourselves that the most important thing is to play the match. However, from the very beginning, it was clear in which direction things were heading. Without diminishing the victory and the quality of FK Borac, whom we congratulate on their win, we believe that with biased refereeing, we could not compete on equal terms. The straw that broke the camel's back was assistant referee Goran Ilinčić (Prijedor), whose inappropriate decisions outraged our fans. Throughout the match, he communicated with the fans and smirked, with, of course, five or six questionable decisions, including awarding throw-ins and corners against our club, and even once the head referee overturned his decision regarding a wrongly awarded throw-in," they added.
In Posušje, they wonder whether these mistakes were intentional or a result of the referees' ignorance.
"However, additional anger was caused by his inappropriate behavior—showing the middle finger and provoking the audience, which was recorded. We must ask ourselves whether all of this was done under someone's orders to provoke the fans, cause a match interruption, and lead to points being deducted from our club. We have reported the aforementioned referee to the relevant authorities of the NS BiH through a special disciplinary complaint and hope for urgent disciplinary proceedings and sanctions against him. Through this, the Management thanks our fans for remaining composed, which prevented unpleasant scenes and a match interruption. After all this, we ask ourselves: is it right to act as we do—honestly? We are a club without debts to the association, the state, players, or suppliers, a club that is accessible to everyone, that welcomes visiting fans with respect, and that wants the best for football. Every day we ask ourselves anew: continue like this or embrace some other 'values'?" they ask in Posušje.
