The accident occurred in the driving lane, and the injured person was transported to the General County Hospital in Vinkovci, announced the Vukovar-Srijem Police Department. The police investigation, conducted under the supervision of the Deputy County Prosecutor in Vukovar, determined that the accident happened when a private car, due to excessive speed, collided with the rear of a trailer. The truck with a trailer bearing Macedonian license plates had been temporarily stopped due to a queue formed toward the border crossing. In the accident, a 65-year-old citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who was driving the private car with Rijeka license plates, was killed. His passenger, a 59-year-old citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, sustained serious physical injuries. By order of the deputy prosecutor, an autopsy will be performed on the body of the deceased. The police will submit a special report on the accident to the competent state prosecutor's office.
