As announced by BHANSA, the extended strike by Lufthansa pilots, organized by the Vereinigung Cockpit union, continues to cause flight cancellations and adjustments, particularly at the Frankfurt and Munich hubs. Consequently, there is a reduction in part of the traffic that would normally pass over Bosnia and Herzegovina or connect to these destinations. According to operational estimates, a temporary decrease in traffic of approximately five to 10% at the daily level is expected, depending on the intensity of the strike and carrier adjustments. At Sarajevo Airport, occasional cancellations or flight changes are possible, along with reduced availability of connecting flights. However, these are limited disruptions that do not affect the overall functionality of the airport. Some traffic is being redirected via alternative routes or taken over by other airlines, thereby mitigating the overall impact on the network. Therefore, no significant disruptions to the functioning of Bosnia and Herzegovina's airspace are expected, as stated by BHANSA. In coordination with EUROCONTROL and the Network Manager, BHANSA notes that they continue to ensure safe, stable, and efficient provision of air traffic control services, with continuous monitoring of the situation.
