"With trust in Almighty God, this war will continue until your humiliation, disgrace, permanent and certain repentance, and surrender. Expect our even more devastating, broader, and destructive actions," stated the operational command of the Khatam Al-Anbiya army in a communiqué broadcast by state television.
Donald Trump used his prime-time address to the nation on Wednesday evening to declare the one-month war in Iran a success that is "close to completion," despite an escalating conflict that has caused economic shocks worldwide, strained transatlantic alliances, and lowered the president's approval ratings.
In his address from the White House, Trump asserted that America's "little excursion" into Iran has nearly achieved "all of America's military objectives," but he offered little clarity on how he plans to end the conflict in the next "two to three weeks."
"We are on the brink of ending Iran's sinister threat to America and the world. We hold all the cards. They have none," Trump said in a 19-minute speech delivered in the Cross Hall.
Listing alleged achievements, Trump stated that Iran's navy and air force have been decimated, leaving the country weak and "no longer a threat" to the U.S. and the world. However, he said the U.S. will continue to attack Iran "extremely strongly" in the coming weeks.
"We will send them back to the Stone Age, where they belong," he said, while simultaneously noting that "talks are ongoing."
Democrats criticized Trump's address as "incoherent" and pointed out that it failed to address "the most basic questions of the American people."
