A day after the big celebration at the Eternal Flame in Sarajevo, Barbarez also got to celebrate in his own city. Neither rain, nor cold weather, nor strong winds could deter the people of Mostar tonight, as they came to greet their great hero.
A special program was organized, with torches lit on the Old Bridge and the plateau in front of it, where fans gathered with numerous Bosnian and Herzegovinian flags to celebrate the victory over Italy and the qualification for the World Cup.
Of course, the biggest frenzy was caused by the appearance of Sergej Barbarez on stage. The Dragons' coach says this is the fruit of honest and great effort and work.
"This is an indicator of why success is important. This is proof that when you work honestly, when you have a vision, and what we do is the only motto of my life. That's why success came with these guys, without whom it wouldn't have been even 1 percent. That common story I promoted to them, I believe no one imagined that results would come so quickly," says Barbarez.
He promised that he would never let down his Bosnians and Herzegovinians, even if there is a defeat, because it is important to have the right approach and fight for our jersey.
"I said that defeats are a phase that must be passed. Certainly, it is a school, because we see how much we love success. In Sarajevo, we were excited. I hope I will never let you down. We can lose a match, but our attitude on the field must be right," added the coach of Bosnia and Herzegovina, among other things.
The most attractive scenes were the torchlight ceremony in Barbarez's honor on the Old Bridge, which was illuminated in the colors of the Bosnian and Herzegovinian flag.
