Bullock noted that the sequel will follow Sally's daughters as adults navigating their magical heritage, while Sally's sister Gillian Owens has traded a life of adventure and occasional danger for a quieter one with a black cat by her side. Kidman explained that the original family house from the film has been restored, and the past is catching up with them as they have their own destinies and families. "Sally is alone, and if you know the original film, you can probably guess why," Bullock joked. On the same day she appeared at CinemaCon, Bullock shared a short behind-the-scenes video from the filming of "Practical Magic 2" on her Instagram, wearing a pink dress and enjoying margaritas. In a statement last year, the "Practical Magic 2" team said: "Twenty-five years ago, Sally, Gillian, Aunt Jet, and Aunt Franny flew off the pages of Alice Hoffman's novel into theaters worldwide. We are thrilled to return to the Owens family on the big screen with Joey, Lee, Maisie, Solly, and Xolo joining the next chapter of our story." The theatrical release of "Practical Magic 2" is scheduled for September 18 this year.
