This will be a special encounter for the 31-year-old from Zenica, who hopes for a draw in this match at the start of the World Cup.
"This means a lot to my family. We are Bosnians, that is our home and will always be our home. My parents are extremely passionate. It's just me, my sister, mom, and dad here, while everyone else is there. On the other hand, we are Canadians and proud of it, one hundred percent. I know that without this country and the opportunities provided for us to come here, we wouldn't be where we are now. We are truly grateful because they gave us a chance," said Didiฤ, then added:
"Bosnia plays against Canada in the first round, the first group stage match in Toronto. That is special for me. Representing Canada is probably one of the highlights of my career, something I could never have imagined. Especially when I think back to the time when I was returning home and playing for Edmonton, just the call-up to the national team was something special. I was extremely happy and definitely proud to wear the Canadian jersey, because of everything this country has done for us."
His parents are Bosnian, and the duel in Toronto at the start of the World Cup is extremely special for him.
"I know that my dad and mom are Bosnian, from Bosnia, and that makes the situation difficult for me. However, in the Canadian team, there are guys I know, whom I've trained and played with. From my perspective, this is truly special: my homeland, where I was born, playing against the country that took us in and where we became the people we are today."
Then, when asked by a journalist about the predicted result, he confirmed that a 3-3 score would be ideal for the start of the World Cup.
Incidentally, Didiฤ is a native of Zenica who is currently recovering from a broken leg and has played two matches for the Canadian national team, scoring a goal.
In his career, he has played for numerous American clubs as well as Edmonton, Pacific, Ottawa, and Cavalry, of which he is currently a member.
