Pattinson (39) has numerous roles under his belt, but, as he noted, not all of them involved comfortable clothing. During a game of "Lie v. Lie" on "Entertainment Weekly," which he played alongside Zendaya, he tried to trick his colleague with a story about the most uncomfortable costume he ever had to wear.
"Once I filmed a movie where the only thing I had on was a tube in my butt," said Pattinson, which Zendaya initially thought was a lie.
However, the actor confirmed it was a true event and told his colleague to try "wearing an internal costume." He added that this, as he described it, unusual experience happened on the set of the film "Mickey 17," directed by Bong Joon Ho. Pattinson admitted that the tube was too flexible and too small to insert.
He also mentioned this prop in an interview with USA Today in March 2025, when he said he felt like a guinea pig, especially during the filming of scenes involving a hybrid MRI-printer crucial to the film's plot.
Recalling the filming, Pattinson noted that one actor had the task of placing steel rollers on him.
"They said: 'Alright, we want to film a close-up where you're putting the tube in Rob's butt.' The guy looked pretty uncomfortable while doing it. I was just sitting there saying: 'It's okay, man, just shove it up there.' That was a real character-building experience," the actor reminisced.
The topic of filming uncomfortable scenes has been brought up again this week, with Jon Hamm also speaking about a similar experience. He was asked about filming a scene with a bare buttocks in the second season of the series "Your Friends & Neighbors." Appearing on Andy's radio show, Hamm talked about the scene where his buttocks were exposed in the first six and a half minutes of the season.
