Ghana could not have chosen a more experienced coach. This is a man who, believe it or not, has held 12 different coaching positions throughout his career. He has only managed Portugal and Iran twice.

He has been in the coaching profession since 1991, when he coached Portugal. After that, he led the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Portugal again, Iran, Colombia, Iran again, Qatar, Oman, and now Ghana.

The 73-year-old Portuguese replaced Otto Addo, who was dismissed on March 31 after defeats in friendly matches against Germany and Austria.

Queiroz served as assistant coach to Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford twice, first from 2002 to 2003, and then from 2004 to 2008, while also holding the position of head coach at Real Madrid.

"I accept this mission with the same passion and dedication that has guided me throughout my entire career. Ghana is a nation of talent, pride, and football soul. I come with respect for its history and faith in its future," said Queiroz at the presentation.

Ghana is in a group with Croatia, and this match could directly decide who advances from Group L. They are also joined by the national teams of England and Panama.
