Sia has spoken out on social media following news that as part of a joint custody agreement, she will pay a large monthly sum for their son. On platform X, Sia posted a message that many interpreted as criticism directed at Bernard. After her post, People magazine reported that the singer has agreed to pay Daniel Bernard $42,500 per month in child support for their two-year-old son, Somersault Summy Wonder Bernard. According to the joint custody agreement, payments began on April 1 and will continue until the boy turns 18, and under certain conditions, even longer if he is attending school. Sia will reportedly also cover the costs of private school, extracurricular activities, and health insurance. She filed for divorce from Bernard in March 2025 after marrying in 2022. "I am a sober, working mother trying to buy peace. I have primary custody of our son because I am the only parent who earns an income, and I have to pay high child support in California. To err is human, to forgive divine," she stated earlier. Bernard requested legal and physical custody from the court last October and then accused Sia of having addiction issues.
