Pivić stated that today's gathering of political parties demonstrated, as he put it, political hypocrisy, especially in the context of the problems facing the industry in Zenica and the fate of steel production.
"Today's gathering of 14 parties in Zenica to express support for Denis Bećirović is the peak of human and political hypocrisy. Did they even speak about Željezara Zenica and the 11,000 jobs directly or indirectly linked to this company? Of course not! It is sad that the fate of steel production is in the hands of these parties, which constitute the government at the level of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Neither the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is a co-owner of the steel plant, nor the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina have done anything not only to save 11,000 jobs but also to preserve the strategic steel production, which is one of the driving forces of the economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Each of these parties is a reason not to support the faceless Bećirović!" Pivić said.
His reaction comes after an agreement of 14 political parties was signed in Zenica to support a joint candidate for the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which sparked various political reactions, especially in the Zenica-Doboj Canton where the issue of industry, Željezara, and jobs is one of the key economic and political questions.
