The Civil Protection of Vogošća Municipality has taken all legally required measures, and due to the fact that an active landslide has disrupted water supply for about 100 households, teams from KJKP Water and Sewerage Sarajevo are on-site alongside municipal services.
With the installation of a new bypass in the next few hours, water supply for the mentioned households in the Ugorsko settlement should return to normal.
In addition to municipal services and workers from KJKP Water and Sewerage Sarajevo, the situation on the ground is being monitored by the Mayor of Vogošća Municipality, Migdad Hasanović.
"Unfortunately, we are a municipality that knows very well the danger posed by landslides, and in the past, we have managed to resolve and remediate such situations properly. Unlike other natural disasters, landslides are quite unpredictable. The most important thing is that we reacted immediately to protect human lives and prevent further damage," said Mayor Hasanović.
He added that the competent services are on-site, assessing the situation and taking initial soil stabilization measures.
For the remediation of this landslide, the design for stabilizing the roadway itself is underway, and currently, they are awaiting the opinion on investigative works to be provided by the Ministry of Economy of the Sarajevo Canton.
