U.S. President Donald Trump announced this morning that America and Iran have reached an agreement on a two-week ceasefire following conflicts that lasted over a month.

"We received a 10-point proposal from Iran and believe it provides a feasible basis for negotiations. Almost all points of previous disagreements have already been resolved between the U.S. and Iran, but the two-week period will allow the agreement to be finalized and concluded," Trump stated.

Iran's 10-point ceasefire proposal includes the following:

Guarantee that Iran will not be attacked again A permanent end to the war, not just a temporary ceasefire Cessation of Israeli attacks in Lebanon Lifting of all U.S. sanctions against Iran End to all regional conflicts targeting Iranian allies Reopening of the Strait of Hormuz for maritime traffic Imposition of a $2 million fee per ship passing through the Strait of Hormuz Iran will share the revenue from the fees with Oman Iran will establish rules for safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz Iran will use the revenue from the Strait of Hormuz for reconstruction, rather than reparations

According to Iranian media, Iran will only accept an end to the war once the details are finalized in accordance with the 10-point peace plan, which was reportedly submitted to the White House through Pakistani mediators.

In the Persian-language version, Iran also included the phrase "acceptance of uranium enrichment" for its nuclear program. However, for reasons that remain unclear, this phrase was missing from the English versions shared by Iranian diplomats with journalists.

The ceasefire came in the final moments before the deadline set by Trump regarding the opening of the strait. In the absence of an agreement, the U.S. president had warned of intensifying attacks, even threatening to "erase civilization."

After Trump announced the ceasefire decision, a statement from Israel indicated support for Trump's decision to halt attacks on Iran for two weeks. They also clarified that the ceasefire does not include Lebanon.

"Israel supports President Trump's decision to halt attacks on Iran for two weeks, provided Iran immediately opens the strait and stops all attacks on the U.S., Israel, and countries in the region," the Israelis stated.
