Among the airports that have begun full implementation of the EES system is the "Franjo Tuฤman" International Airport in Zagreb. The ABC border control system and EES kiosk have been presented. These are modern solutions in the field of border management, including the European Union's EES system, which enhance security and expedite passenger border control, with a higher level of automation and traffic flow at airport border crossings. As previously mentioned, the EES system will replace passport stamping, and upon arrival at the border crossing, passengers will have their faces scanned, fingerprints taken, as well as data from their travel documents. Since the start of the EES operation, over 45 million border crossings have been registered as passengers entered or exited a European country using the system. Over 24,000 people have been denied entry for various reasons, such as inadequate justification for their visit, expired or fraudulent documents.

Today, the full implementation of the new European Union Entry/Exit System (EES) began across the European Union area, and in addition to land border crossings, it will also be applied at airports.
