The Head of the Municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo, Irfan Čengić, together with the Minister of Health of the Canton of Sarajevo, Enis Hasanović, visited the Stari Grad Sarajevo Public Health Center, where a sanitary vehicle and valuable medical equipment were presented.

The Stari Grad Sarajevo Health Center expressed the need for a modern sanitary vehicle, dimensionally adapted to the narrow and steep streets of Stari Grad where it will carry out interventions. This is all part of a program of million-dollar investments in equipping Civil Protection structures in Stari Grad.

"Healthcare is not within the jurisdiction of municipalities in the Canton of Sarajevo, but we strive through such and similar activities to assist those who are responsible. My commitment is to strengthen Civil Protection, and the Health Center is an important link in that system. With Minister Hasanović, we have already discussed new activities and joint investments in the renovation of certain clinics and the purchase of additional medical equipment for the Health Center. Also, on the occasion of World Health Day, we had activities at the Generations Center, which is the best example of prevention and assistance for members of the third age," emphasized Head Čengić.

The delegation at the Health Center was welcomed by the Director of the Health Center, Amela Brčkalija, and the event was also attended by the President of the Municipal Council, Seid Škaljić, the representative in the Assembly of the Canton of Sarajevo, Belma Kapo, as well as councilor Željko Ler.

On this occasion, they also received significant medical equipment and consumables, including an ECG machine, wheelchairs for persons with disabilities, home visit bags, instruments, and necessary supplies for the daily work of healthcare staff.

During 2024 and 2025, in the term of Head Čengić, similar equipment was also allocated to the Stari Grad Health Center. During 2025, a veterans' clinic was opened at the Stari Grad Health Center, which now provides healthcare to demobilized soldiers and war military invalids.

During his term, the repayment of the loan used to renovate the Health Center building in Stari Grad by the previous administration also began.
