The OHR bid farewell to the former head of this institution, highlighting his long-term commitment and the special relationship he fostered with our country. "He remained true to his values and deeply dedicated to the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina in an admirable way," stated the official release from the institution he led from 2006 to 2007. On the occasion of his passing, the current High Representative in BiH, Christian Schmidt, also spoke, offering sincere condolences to the family of the late Schwarz-Schilling. On this occasion, he emphasized his important role in the processes of building peace and stability in post-Dayton BiH. "He was a true advocate of dialogue and reconciliation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a friend and trusted advisor. The OHR will remember him and he will be missed," Schmidt conveyed. We recall that Christian Schwarz-Schilling served as the High Representative of the international community in BiH from 2006 to 2007. He will be remembered as one of the most sincere Western allies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for which he was previously awarded the "Honorary Citizen of the City of Sarajevo" recognition.
