This is one of the key energy projects for supply security and gas source diversification in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Southern Interconnection project is seen by the United States and the international community as a priority strategic goal that will reduce Bosnia and Herzegovina's complete dependence on Russian gas and ensure future energy supply stability. The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has established the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on the "Southern Interconnection Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia" Gas Pipeline and forwarded it to parliamentary procedure.
