One of the key factors behind this result is the return of Wizz Air, which has reopened its base in Tuzla. This has restored the airport's important role on the regional aviation map, directly leading to an increase in both the number of routes and flight frequency.
An additional development boost came through the expansion of the based aircraft fleet. Specifically, a second base aircraft, an Airbus A321neo, was stationed at the airport on Sunday, significantly enhancing operational capabilities and opening possibilities for introducing new destinations.
The airport management emphasizes that the achieved results are the fruit of continuous work on improving service quality, strengthening cooperation with airlines, and increasing Tuzla's accessibility for passengers from across the region.
"We thank all passengers for their trust. We continue to work on strengthening Tuzla's connectivity with European and global destinations, with the aim of making our airport one of the key regional centers," stated the management.
Given current growth trends and announced capacity expansions, 2026 is expected to potentially be one of the most successful years in the history of Tuzla Airport.
Projections indicate that 800,000 passengers could be served, and in the coming period, the introduction of at least one more route is planned, specifically to Zurich, operated by the Swiss airline Chair Airlines.
