For Zrinjski, victory is imperative if they want to maintain even theoretical chances in the pursuit of the leading Borac, who are a full nine points ahead, but also to solidify their second-place position before the season finale.

On the other hand, Velež holds fourth place with 38 points and is engaged in a fierce battle for a spot on the European stage. A win in front of their home crowd against their biggest rival would bring them much-needed confidence and valuable points heading into the season's finish.

In the last six head-to-head matches, Zrinjski has remained undefeated in derbies against Velež.

Half an hour later, in Prijedor, Rudar and Sloga from Doboj will face off. This is a derby of the lower half and a match labeled as a "six-pointer" in the fight for survival. Rudar is currently stuck at the very bottom of the table with 20 points and desperately needs a win to catch up with the teams ahead of them.

The situation is no better in the Sloga Meridian camp. The Doboj team is in ninth place with 23 points, meaning both teams are currently in the relegation zone.

Therefore, a ruthless and trench warfare-like battle is expected at the City Stadium, where victory is the only acceptable option for both teams.
