"Gerald R. Ford remains ready to fully execute missions in support of national objectives in any area of operations," stated a release published after the ship departed Split on Thursday.
Ford was in the Red Sea, operating as part of the "Epic Fury" operation against Iran, when a fire broke out on March 12.
Speaking at a defense forum in Washington on Tuesday, the Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Daryl Caudle, praised the Ford's crew for extinguishing the fire and returning the ship to action two days after the blaze.
"They fought it, put it out, and started flying missions two days later, so I'm very proud of that crew," he said.
However, the ship was withdrawn from action against Iran just over a week after the fire and sent to Greece for repairs to damaged berthing compartments.
After repair work was completed at the U.S. base in Souda Bay on the island of Crete, Ford went to the Croatian port for five days of rest and relaxation.
Caudle said at the defense forum that Ford's deployment, which began when it left its homeport of Norfolk, Virginia, in late June of last year, will be extended to a "record" 11 months.
