Prime Minister of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, Nezir Pivić, stated that the Government continues with continuous investments in the security sector, aiming to build a modern and efficient police force.
"Our goal is clear: to ensure that police officers have all the necessary conditions and equipment to perform their duties professionally, efficiently, and in the interest of our citizens' safety. This equipment will only be beneficial if the police officers, who wear this honorable uniform, demonstrate through their work, ethics, and professionalism that they are truly in the service of citizens," said Pivić.
He reminded that last year was dedicated to investments in the security sector, with over 12 million convertible marks invested.
"Today's presentation confirms our commitment to making the Zenica-Doboj Canton police modern, strong, and ready to respond to contemporary security challenges. We will continue investments in the coming period, and a further increase in salaries for police officers, as well as other public sector employees funded from the cantonal budget, is planned," said Pivić.
Minister of Internal Affairs of ZDK, Emir Vračo, emphasized that this is one of the largest investments in police equipment in recent decades.
"For the first time, we have acquired three combat armored vehicles, valued at about 4.7 million convertible marks. Simultaneously, we have also acquired 46 official vehicles, including off-road vehicles, transport vehicles, and vehicles for the daily work of police officers, for which over 2.3 million marks were allocated," said Vračo.
He added that for the first time since 1997, the personal armament of police officers has been renewed, with about 1.5 million marks allocated, while nearly five million marks were invested in acquiring new uniforms.
"We continue to invest in, strengthen, and improve the security system decisively, responsibly, and without compromise. Parallel to equipping, we are also working on strengthening police personnel. Two hundred twenty-three new police officers have been hired, while the competition for an additional 195 has been completed, and we soon expect them to attend the Police Academy," highlighted Vračo.
Chief of the Uniformed Police Sector of the Police Administration of the ZDK Ministry of Internal Affairs, Adis Imamović, emphasized that the goal is a professionally equipped and trained police force ready to respond to all security challenges.
"Continuous equipping of the police with new material and technical resources is one of the strategic priorities of the Police Administration and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton. This equipment will significantly enhance the operational capacities of police officers and enable even more efficient execution of their duties in the field," said Imamović.
Director of the company KM Trade Sarajevo, Jasmin Kujović, explained that this involves specialized equipment whose procurement was a complex process.
"These are special combat vehicles subject to strict import permits, so the entire procurement process was very demanding. I can say that this is the Senator vehicle, manufactured by Roshel from Canada, equipped with B6 and B7 protection levels, as well as thermal and day-night cameras. It is one of the best tactical combat vehicles produced in the world today," said Kujović.
