Selimović previously hinted that in collaboration with Beba, he plans a surprise for his audience, and today the song and music video were released.
"Some cities and some songs are simply destined to be connected. 'Da neko pita' is the fruit of a wonderful collaboration with Beba Balašević, and Novi Sad was the only logical choice to turn this story into images. We wanted to film something that will last, that has the weight and scent of some beautiful times, yet sounds modern and fresh. Thanks to everyone who participated in creating this memory," stated Mirza, sharing a clip from the music video.
Regarding the song "Da neko pita" itself, Serbian media report that it has a long and personal history. Beba wrote it when she was only 16 years old, and for years it was a favorite among her family members before it was decided to present it to the public.
A special emotion is also carried by the fact that the first demo of this song was once sung by her father, Đorđe Balašević, while he was working on an album.
The inspiration leads back to youth and first great love. Beba was then a 16-year-old girl in love with a boy who frequented a café in Novi Sad, and it is precisely that memory that remained the foundation of the story the song carries.
As for Selimović, he will soon hold two concerts in Sarajevo—he will perform on April 24th and 25th at the Bosnian Cultural Center.
