The new album is a continuation of her 2005 album "Confessions on a Dance Floor" and also marks her first studio album in seven years, since "Madame X" in 2019. The Associated Press characterized this album as a miss, while the original "Confessions" was considered her return to the peak of pop power. The critically acclaimed release brought hits such as "Hung Up," "Sorry," "Get Together," and "Jump." The album received platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and won a Grammy for Best Electronic/Dance Album in 2006. In a statement to American media, Madonna shared a manifesto that she and Price used as a starting point for the album. "We must dance, celebrate, and pray with our bodies. These are things we have been doing for thousands of years; they are truly spiritual practices. After all, the dance floor is a ritual space. It is a place where you connect with your wounds, with your fragility. Rave is art. It is about pushing your own boundaries and connecting with a community of like-minded people. Sound, light, and vibration reshape our perceptions, drawing us into a trance. We not only hear the bass repetition but also feel it. It alters our state of consciousness and dissolves the ego and time," she stated.
