When Gino Srdjan Yevdjevich left war-torn Sarajevo in the mid-1990s and settled in Seattle, he brought with him two things: exceptional songwriting and vocal talent, and an unrelenting need to create. Thus, in 1996, Kultur Shock was born—a band that would become a pioneer and a sort of "godfather" of what we now call gypsy punk in the decades to come.

More than three decades later, Kultur Shock has over 1,000 concerts worldwide under its belt, performances at major European and global festivals, collaborations with names like Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys, Alternative Tentacles Records), and the status of a band that has never agreed to be a "legacy act." Their sound is an explosive combination of Balkan melody and sevdah, metal, punk, and hard rock—simultaneously political, ironic, emotional, and brutal.

Over the years, Kultur Shock has built a reputation as one of the most intense live bands on the European and American scenes. Their concerts are not just performances; they are rituals of energy, collective release, and a loud, passionate stance against apathy and conformity. Three decades later, their message remains the same: art must be alive, uncompromising, and brave.

New Chapter: House of Kultur / House of Shock

Marking 30 years of existence, the band is releasing a double album.

The album is the first part of the double release "House of Kultur / House of Shock" and represents the recognizable, "classic" Kultur Shock sound—seven songs that "rage" between political commentary, satire, humor, and personal confessions. Recorded in 2024 and 2025 in Seattle and New York City, the album is a powerful example of international and intercultural collaboration, standing in stark contrast to the closed-off and nationalist tendencies of today.

The second part of the project (coming soon) takes experimentation a step further, expanding the sonic spectrum and involving a larger number of musicians, from former members to young artists from the U.S. and Europe. With this release, Kultur Shock confirms that they are more than just a band today—they are an open creative project, a platform that is constantly evolving. The vinyl release of the album is being realized in collaboration with the label Alternative Tentacles.

Opening Act: Feđa Štukan and Nesvrstani

Feđa Štukan and Nesvrstani will perform as the opening act. Štukan is widely known as a prominent Bosnian-Herzegovinian actor and the author of the autobiographical book *Blank*, a gripping and uncompromising testimony about war, personal struggles, and rediscovering meaning.

The successful play *Blank* was also created based on the same work, along with his music album *Blank*, translating this powerful story into multiple artistic forms. With the band Nesvrstani, he delivers an energetic, rock-infused performance—raw, honest, and unfiltered—that thematically and emotionally perfectly complements the evening brought by Kultur Shock.
