Unlike many other footballers' partners, Sara Petrović does not have social media profiles and keeps her private life away from the public's curious eyes. However, from time to time, Nikola Vasilj posts a joint photo with his chosen one. They got married in 2021 at the Church of St. John the Baptist in Čitluk. For the occasion, she chose a tight wedding dress adorned with sequins, and he a classic suit. The photos were published by the portal hercegovina.info. After the church wedding, they organized a celebration in Međugorje.

Incidentally, Nikola Vasilj is the son of former Croatian national team player Vladimir Vasilj, who was part of the generation of the Vatreni that won bronze at the 1998 World Cup in France. Nikola Vasilj began his professional career at Zrinjski from Mostar, and after several years spent in the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina and lower leagues, he went abroad, where he played for the second team of Germany's Nuremberg and then for Ukraine's Zorya. Since 2021, he has been playing for Germany's St. Pauli, which competes in the most elite German football competition—the Bundesliga. Recently, Vasilj has also established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team, the Dragons.
