U.S. President Donald Trump stated that China was responsible for Iran's agreement to come to the negotiating table as its ceasefire deadline approached, and the White House confirmed that it had held "high-level" talks with Chinese officials.
In this regard, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi noted that during the war, he conducted 26 phone calls with his counterparts from Iran, Israel, Russia, and Gulf countries, striving to influence the cessation of conflict and the initiation of a political process.

The plan envisions the immediate implementation of a ceasefire, the initiation of peace negotiations, the protection of civilians and key infrastructure, ensuring safe shipping routes including the Strait of Hormuz, and establishing a United Nations-sponsored framework for long-term peace.
