The verses were written by the legendary Đorđe Balašević, the chorus by Zlatan Fazlić Fazla, and the music by Zlatko Arslanagić. In 1992, Balašević was trying to contact his friends in Sarajevo, so he reached out to Zlatan Fazlić Fazla and Zdravko Grebo via Radio 99. He told them he was deeply shaken by the siege of Sarajevo. He dictated several verses to them and asked them to finish the song. Then, Zlatan Fazlić Fazla wrote the verses, and the song was complete. Next came a new challenge—gathering musicians to perform it, which was particularly difficult during the siege. "He sent us that song. It meant a lot to us. Then we quickly organized ourselves. We gathered whoever was around—Davor, Ismet, Tifa... Ranko Rihtman was somewhere there. All the folks from the music production of this house were always there, ready to record the song," Fazla recounted earlier during an appearance on TVSA, among other things. Its lyrics are still sung today: "And when it is silent, Sarajevo sings, and when it squints, its eyes sparkle. Rain of tears flows into the gutter, Sarajevo will remain, everything else will pass." For television broadcast, a recording of the song's performance was also made, thanks to Bosnian-Herzegovinian director Ademir Kenović.

The song "Sarajevo Will Be, Everything Else Will Pass" is among the most famous war hits. It celebrates the defiance of Sarajevo's citizens during the aggression by the JNA, the Army of the Republika Srpska, and other Serbian paramilitary formations.
