During an appearance on the podcast "Big Bro," hosted by Kid Cudi, Ortega spoke about the challenges she faced at the start of her career and the doubts that followed her. "I didn’t know what else I would do. I never thought about anything else, especially recently, purely out of curiosity and the desire for another life experience. However, when I was a teenager, I was let go from a children’s series and didn’t know what to do. I had to prove myself and meet all these new casting directors who didn’t know who I was," Ortega said. Initially, she thought she would continue going to school, but going to the set of the series "You" changed her mind. "I felt like it was the right time to drop out, if I was going to. I started high school and thought that was normal. We talked about it for a few months with my team, and then I went to the set of 'You' and loved it and had a great time. I thought, 'Yeah, there’s no way I’m leaving this,'" she recalled. Ortega began her career in children’s projects like "Richie Rich" and "Stuck in the Middle." In 2019, she landed the role of Ellie Alves in the second season of the series "You," where she played the neighbor of Joe Goldberg, portrayed by Penn Badgley. In the meantime, Ortega has taken on a series of notable roles in films such as "X," "Scream 7," "Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice," and "Death of a Unicorn." She also became one of the recognizable faces of Netflix’s award-winning series "Wednesday," inspired by "The Addams Family."
