According to him, these are obligations dating back more than two decades, which arose as a result of what he described as the irresponsible attitude of previous authorities towards legal obligations to citizens. "The total debt we encountered exceeded 80 million KM. Instead of being resolved, this problem was neglected for years and left for future generations," emphasized Jakšić. He asserted that over the past four years, a turnaround has been made through a systematic and responsible approach to resolving inherited obligations, while simultaneously strengthening the canton's financial stability. "Every payment means correcting a long-standing injustice and restoring trust in institutions," said Jakšić. Although the process is not yet complete, he conveyed that the competent institutions will continue to work intensively on closing this chapter. "The citizens of the Una-Sana Canton deserve security, justice, and institutions that work for them," Jakšić stated.
