The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated in a release that Khademi was killed this morning, with accusations that Israel and the United States are behind the attack. The IDF announced that they will "verify" the claims regarding his death. Khademi succeeded Mohammad Kazemi in that position, who was also killed in an Israeli attack on June 15, 2025, during the twelve-day war between Iran and Israel. Earlier this year, following deadly anti-government protests in January, Khademi accused U.S. President Donald Trump of inciting what Iranian officials described as a "staged assassination strategy," aimed at increasing the number of casualties and justifying foreign military intervention. He then claimed that more than ten foreign intelligence agencies, including the Israeli cyber warfare unit and intelligence operations 8200, were involved in the protests that swept through Iran.
