Crippa, originally from Ethiopia, celebrated with a time of 2:05:18, setting a personal best in the marathon. Second place went to Ethiopian Bayelign Teshager, trailing by 5 seconds, while Kenyan Sila Kiptoo finished 10 seconds behind the winner. In the women's competition, Ethiopian Shure Demise achieved a fantastic success and broke the course record, which now stands at 2:18:34. Second place was taken by her compatriot Misgane Alemayehu with a time of 2:19:08, and third place went to Kenyan Magdalyne Masai with a time of 2:19:17.
