The Iranian Embassy in Ghana has sent an interesting "offer" to Italy, following the public clash between Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and U.S. President Donald Trump. "Dear Italians, your prime minister defended the Pope and lost an ally in Washington. We would like to apply for that position," they wrote in the post. They stated that they would "replace" America as Italy's ally in an appropriate manner. "Hereโ€™s what we offer: 7,000 years of civilization, a love for poetry and architecture, and food that takes longer to prepare than Trumpโ€™s attention span," they added. At the end, they noted that Iran and Italy have only ever quarreled over one thing in the past. "We only argued about who invented ice cream first. Our 'faloodeh' was first, but your 'gelato' was louder. Weโ€™ve been in a 'cold' war over this issue for 2,000 years," they wrote in the post. Incidentally, Iranian representatives worldwide have been provoking Trump and the U.S. with posts that often cleverly mock America, even using artificial intelligence to convey their messages.
