The Republic Market Inspection carried out 132 inspections at gas stations across the entire territory of the Republic of Srpska, finding in 57 cases that prescribed margins were not adhered to. On this basis, fines totaling 855,000 convertible marks were issued. Due to identified irregularities such as price formation, price display, and inaccurate maintenance of business books and records, fines amounting to 23,200 convertible marks were issued," stated Janković.
He noted that, given the market situation and price movements, inspections were also conducted in commercial establishments dealing with food products, as well as in large retail chains and smaller stores engaged in both retail and wholesale.
"The inspection carried out 114 controls, and in 58 cases it was found that traders did not comply with the prescribed margin, resulting in fines totaling 640,000 convertible marks. Additionally, as part of these controls, fines of 14,000 convertible marks were issued for other identified irregularities," says Janković.
Janković also provided data that inspectors, within local self-government units, conducted controls in accordance with the decision, identifying irregularities in 28 cases and issuing misdemeanor orders totaling 187,000 convertible marks, with an additional 14,100 convertible marks in fines for other irregularities.
"In total, for gas stations, retail and wholesale trade centers, and independent entrepreneurs, misdemeanor orders amounting to about 1,750,000 convertible marks were issued in the previous period," emphasized Janković.
Janković highlighted that across the entire territory of the Republic of Srpska, 45 republic and about 70 local inspectors are working in the field, who, he says, have managed to respond to the challenges of the current situation.
"This is an extraordinary situation and not the first time, but we have endeavored to cover all entities with this number of inspectors. I believe this sample has shown the picture of the current situation. And we will continuously monitor global market trends," says Janković.
He emphasized that the Government's Decision on margin restrictions is in force until June 1, and those entities that have been inspected are not exempt from re-inspection.
