British Shorthair cats have been his companions since 2023. He told People that for this trio, there is no adventure too big or too small to embark on together.

In February 2026, Joksimović and his cats flew from Chicago to Munich, where they spent a few nights before heading to a ski resort in the Austrian Alps. After the cats acclimated to the time difference and high altitude, he began taking them on gondolas. Their Instagram profile can be found at the link.

This was his first experience with cats on the slopes, as well as his first time skiing in ten years. He skied alone for the first three days before involving them in the rides. Initially, he skied down the mountain with the cats in a backpack, curiously observing their surroundings. They repeated the first four or five descents under the same conditions to help the cats get used to the sounds of skiers, snowboarders, and various gondola noises.

Once they felt secure enough, he placed them on top of the backpack, their usual favorite spot. Surprisingly, he notes that both Louie and Todd enjoyed themselves and were very relaxed while descending the mountain, dressed in their jackets and hats. They skied for three hours each day, followed by lunch and enjoying the view.

According to him, other skiers couldn’t believe they were actually cats. Many stopped by the slopes to take videos or photos, making space so the cats could pass safely without other skiers getting too close.

Joksimović was confident the cats would master skiing because he had already taken them on numerous other trips. In November 2025, he took Louie and Todd on a two-week journey through Utah, Arizona, and Nevada, visiting five national parks and going hiking. One of the cats’ favorite parts of this trip was the car rides. The cats stayed close to him, wore GPS collars, and ran around, having a great time.

He managed to get Louie and Todd to sit on the edge of a canyon for a perfect photo using treats. Whenever he needed them to pose, he would hold treats above the camera and then reward them. However, he admits it took Louie about 20 minutes to get used to the sounds and sights of water in Zion National Park in Utah. There, Louie experienced a vast, open national park for the first time; previously, they had mostly explored narrower trails. In Zion, he explains, it was Louie’s first time in a large canyon, and it took him some time to accept the new scents.

During their stay in the park, they saw wild sheep and rabbits. It took Louie a while to adjust to the expansive landscape, but he eventually grew to love the environment and hiked for kilometers. It’s estimated that the cats covered about 8 kilometers with him and his friends.

At the end of May 2025, they also traveled to Alberta, Canada, where they canoed on Lake Louise. The canoes there are pet-friendly, which pleasantly surprised him. It was the cats’ first experience on water outside a bathtub, and it took them about 10 to 15 minutes to get used to floating and moving on the water.

Afterward, they embraced this experience too, curiously sniffing their surroundings. Louie tried dipping his paws in the water, but the canoe was too high, so they ended up sitting calmly for about an hour and a half, enjoying the view.

In total, he has visited 14 countries with Louie and Todd and plans to increase that number in the coming months.
