"I believe they will make the right decision," stated Vance. He added that U.S. President Donald Trump has the option to approve the use of additional pressure measures if Tehran continues its current behavior. "They must know that we have tools in our arsenal that we have not yet decided to use. The President of the United States can decide to use them, and he will do so if the Iranians do not change their course of action," he added. He emphasized that the United States, unlike Iran, has significantly greater economic capacity to respond to any moves by Tehran, especially in the context of regional tensions and movements through the Strait of Hormuz. "Iran is trying to inflict economic losses through the Strait of Hormuz, but the U.S. can impose much greater economic consequences on Iran than Iran can on us or our allies," Vance conveyed. Speaking about the possible development of the situation, Vance noted that Washington expects a response from Tehran in a very short time. "We believe we will receive a response by eight o'clock tonight. I hope Iran will make the right decision," he said. In the concluding part of his statement, the U.S. Vice President expressed confidence that the conflict is moving toward an end but stressed that its outcome will depend on Iran's decisions. "Very soon this war will end. The nature of that ending is up to Iran," Vance conveyed, noting that "Iran must not have nuclear weapons."
