"Euphoria" has been provoking negative reactions since its first season, but the new third season has sparked intense criticism. Chloe Cherry told Metro about how director Sam Levinson asked her to film the most disgusting scene possible.

"Sam approached me and said, 'I need this scene to show how disgusting it would be to swallow balloons filled with fentanyl and how truly repulsed you would be,'" she recounted. She told him she would try. Of course, she didn't swallow real fentanyl, but the experience was still quite distressing for her regardless.

"I managed it, and when we stopped filming, everyone applauded. I'm not joking, the entire crew applauded me. They were so amazed at how disgusting I made that scene," she said.

It is worth noting that the third season has been widely criticized and accused of promoting pedophilia because Sydney Sweeney poses for OnlyFans in one scene with her legs spread and a pacifier in her mouth. The series director has yet to respond to the avalanche of negative reactions.
