"After launching road connectivity projects, it is time to direct the same momentum towards railways. This is a prerequisite for faster flow of goods, greater investments, and stronger connectivity within the country and with the region," stated Minister Forto.

The minister emphasized that for initiating this process, it is crucial for the competent institutions in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to formally express interest and take concrete steps to, in cooperation with the World Bank, open the space for significant investments in the modernization and stabilization of railways.

Discussions also covered the progress made on the project to build a bridge at the ล ฤ‡epan Polje site, with expectations that work on the bridge could begin before summer, while the completion of the tender procedure for the modernization of the Foฤa - Hum road is anticipated in September.

Additionally, representatives of the World Bank expressed interest in helping to continue activities on the construction of the Doboj โ€“ Vukosavlje section on Corridor 5C. Minister Forto highlighted that Bosnia and Herzegovina has the capacity to realize large infrastructure projects when there is clear coordination and partnership with international financial institutions, and that the Ministry will continue to actively work on accelerating these processes.
