The Phantoms convincingly defeated teams Santi Ortopedie Nola from Italy, Karaman Ozel Idare SC from Turkey, and the Polish team Aluron CMC ParaVolley Zawiercie without dropping a set, starting their defense of the European champion title in the best possible way.

In an atmosphere fitting for the opening itself, the audience had the chance to enjoy top-level volleyball and the fighting spirit of both teams. Although the host put up exceptional resistance and showed an admirable level of play, the current European champions—the Phantoms—once again confirmed why they are at the very top.

"In key moments, the experience, composure, and recognizable energy of the Phantoms made the difference," said captain Mirzet Duran, adding that the other two teams were easier opponents than the host.

"It was an opportunity for our coach to give all players a chance, and they justified his trust by maintaining a high level of play until the end of the match. This is the best indicator that we have depth and quality at the highest level," concluded Duran.

The Phantoms are determined to win the European champion title for the fifth consecutive time and the ninth overall, as the Phantoms—the current European and national champions—are the most decorated team in Europe when it comes to sitting volleyball.

This year's Champions Cup is being held in the Italian city of Naples. In the tournament, besides the Phantoms, eight teams are participating: Santi Ortopedie Nola from Italy, Aluron CMC ParaVolley Zawiercie from Poland, the Turkish team Karaman Ozel Idare SC, IOK Zagreb from Croatia, KSO Spid from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Ukrainian team Kyiv, and the German champion TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
