The exact cause of the fire will be known after an investigation led by the prosecutor of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office. According to residents, the fire most likely started after a mattress near a clothes dryer on the balcony caught fire. After that, the flames began to spread in the apartment on the fourth floor of the residential building. A rapid intervention by three firefighting teams prevented a tragedy and greater material damage. All residents were quickly evacuated from their homes, and emergency services assisted those who felt unwell due to the smoke that spread throughout the entire building.
