As announced by the TK Prosecutor's Office, detention was proposed to the Municipal Court in Banovići due to the existence of reasonable suspicion that the suspects committed the prolonged criminal offense of aggravated theft, as well as the criminal offenses of theft, obstruction of evidence, and damage to another's property.

According to the allegations, the suspects, on the night between April 11 and 12, 2026, in the area of Banovići, committed multiple criminal offenses with the aim of obtaining unlawful material gain.

"They attempted and partially carried out the removal of low-voltage and high-voltage electrical cables by force at several locations within the RMU Banovići area, thereby causing damage to the mine of at least 10,000 KM," stated the TK Prosecutor's Office.

Simultaneously, it is suspected that they previously stole a motor vehicle, which they used to commit other criminal offenses, and then set it on fire to destroy evidence and hinder the investigation. The vehicle's owner suffered damages of approximately 13,000 KM.

As further reported, on the same night, they damaged inventory at a children's playground in the village of Treštenica near Banovići, causing damages of about 1,000 KM, and broke into another vehicle from which they stole certain items.

Investigators from the Criminal Police Department of the Banovići Police Administration undertook a series of operational and investigative actions to clarify and document these criminal offenses, after which the suspects were deprived of their liberty in the afternoon hours of April 12 and handed over to the jurisdiction of the Prosecutor's Office.

The acting prosecutor issued an order to conduct an investigation and interrogated the suspects, while investigative actions are still ongoing.
