As reported, the meeting was also attended by HDZ representative in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Darijana Filipović and Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman.
"The discussion focused on current priorities with special emphasis on the continuation of European reforms, preparations for the upcoming General Elections in BiH, and issues of particular importance to the Croatian people. The priorities highlighted included the protection of the constitutional equality of the Croatian people, amendments to electoral legislation, as well as support for the European path and developmental and infrastructural projects in BiH," stated the announcement from Čović's office.
It was further stated that "political representatives of the Croatian people in BiH are continuously working to preserve political stability and the functionality of institutions," and the importance of our country's European path was emphasized.
"On this occasion, the officials also discussed the Southern Gas Interconnection project, as well as its importance for the diversification of supply and the overall energy security of BiH. It was highlighted that the completion of the remaining steps is expected, with imminent confirmation in both houses of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH so that the necessary interstate agreement can be signed by the end of April," it was noted.
Meetings between Čović and Plenković have become a regular occurrence, and it is particularly interesting that Darijana Filipović often accompanies her party leader on these visits, as well as at meetings in BiH.
This pattern, which has been ongoing for several months, suggests that Filipović is most likely HDZ's choice as a candidate for the BiH Presidency member in the elections scheduled for October.
