A visit was organized to the "Vratnik" Volunteer Fire Department, where a donation of valuable equipment was made, considering that this department represents an important segment of the protection and rescue structures of the Stari Grad Municipality of Sarajevo.

On this occasion, the signing of a contract for the allocation of targeted funds for the implementation of program activities was also planned.

"A multi-million investment in Civil Protection structures is one of my priorities. So far, during my term, we have provided about half a million BAM in equipment and financial resources for the 'Vratnik' VFD, and our plan is to increase that amount to about 1.5 million BAM by the end of the term. I am grateful to the members of the 'Vratnik' VFD for their decades of participation in extinguishing fires in Stari Grad," emphasized Mayor Čengić.

The donated equipment includes modern personal protective gear for firefighters, which includes protective suits, helmets, boots, and gloves, as well as specialized technical equipment for interventions such as chainsaws, concrete and rebar cutting equipment, pumps, generators, and fire extinguishing devices. Additional tools and resources have also been secured to contribute to more efficient field operations, especially in fire situations and other natural disasters.

It is important to note that during Mayor Irfan Čengić's term, equipment has been procured for this department on two occasions, including a significant donation from the City of Istanbul, realized as a result of the Municipality's international cooperation. In the upcoming period, the procurement of a new fire truck is also planned.

All of the above represents the largest equipping of the Vratnik Volunteer Fire Department in its history. The delegation included Adela Plakalo, Secretary of the Municipal Administration Body, Seid Škaljić, Council President, and councilors Nermin Iković, Muamer Mekić, and Selvira Vilić.
