According to court documents released by foreign media, a Los Angeles court has rejected a request from the Creditors Adjustment Bureau to use Richards' assets, including salaries and other sources of income, to settle the debts of her former partner. The judge stated in the ruling that Richards is not financially responsible for debts incurred by Phypers before or during their six-year marriage. It was also emphasized that the actress did not participate in creating these obligations, and therefore cannot be legally required to repay them. The creditor's request was denied "without prejudice," meaning it can be reconsidered in another form. The Creditors Adjustment Bureau had previously argued that Richards should be held responsible for part of her husband's debts, from whom she divorced in 2025. Phypers previously stated in court that his total debts amount to approximately $850,000, including unpaid rent, loans, business space expenses, and legal services. Meanwhile, the court has granted him temporary spousal support, under which Richards pays $5,000 monthly, as well as $30,000 for legal fees. The couple separated last summer, and Richards previously obtained a permanent restraining order against Phypers, citing allegations of abuse that he denied. Phypers is currently facing criminal charges, including spousal violence and witness interference, while in a separate case, he is required to pay $160,000 for alleged fraud.
